Who We Are

Our Story

The Light Horse and Field Artillery Museum, located in Nar Nar Goon, Victoria Australia, is dedicated to the commemoration rather than the celebration of war. We are one of Australia's only working early military museums and since 1990 we have been improving the experience we give the thousands of people that have stepped through time as they have explored our museum.

Our motto "Remembering all animals in war" highlights the often forgotten about utilisation of animals during all wars. Animals are the unsung hereos of service. From horses, donkeys, mules, dogs, birds and camels to rats.

Across those 30 years, we have fostered a partnership with the Victorian State Headquarters branch of the RSL. With the RSL's assistance, we have been involved with fundraising at Legacy (Badge Day), the Poppy appeal, ANZAC day and Rememberance Day activities. See our Gallery and Events pages for more photos and information.

We offer personalised guided tours for all group sizes and have on site BBQ facilities and facilities for the disabled.

We can also provide a great venue for functions and events.
